Nerikomi

Nerikomi is a Japanese process using different colored clays to create a ceramic piece. I use Mason stains to color clay. I like to mix the stained clay with naturally colored clays to create pieces with spiraling patterns. I find beauty both in finishing the piece with a clear glaze or leaving the piece unglazed.
